Snapdragon 830:An Overview

Qualcomm working on its upcoming high end SoC named Snapdragon 830.The high end devices coming out in 2017 will be powered by this SoC.The most expected and notable device powered by Snapdragon 830 is Samsung Galaxy S8.Snapdragon 820 had a great success this year and Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 821 which is a slightly higher variant of Snapdragon 820 with clock speeds increased from 2.15 GHz to 2.3 GHz and some improvements in power efficiency. We can also expect that Snapdragon 830 will also be a great success for Qualcomm.The Snapdragon 830 coming with power packed features rather than its predecessors.

• Snapdragon 830 is expected to be clocked at 3 GHz based on some rumours.However,this is over expectation which may not be featured in this SoC.
• Snapdragon 830 is said to be using ARM based cores instead of custom cores.ARM announced its high end core named Cortex A73 which will power the devices in 2017.
• Cortex A73 gives better support for mobile VR,highest power efficiency and increased clock speed up to 2.8 GHz.Cortex A73 is well suitable for 10mm SoCs.
• Qualcomm may use Cortex A73 cores as 8 x Cortex A73 or 4 x Cortex A73 cores and 4 x Custom Kryo cores as the Snapdragon 830 is an octa core SoC.
• Snapdragon 830 has built-in support for LTE Cat 16 which gives download speeds upto 1 GBPS and upload speeds upto 600 MBPS with its latest Qualcomm X16 Modem.
• Qualcomm uses 24 bit Hi Fi Audio chipset in its latest SoCs.Qualcomm is expected to implement Dolby Audio support to its Hi-Fi DAC to its future SoCs.So,Snapdragon 830 may have it.
• Adreno 540 GPU provides Extra ordinary performance even for high end games with improved less power consumption and heat dissipation.
• Samsung Galaxy S8,Samsung Galaxy X,LG G6,Xiaomi Mi 6 and OnePlus 4 may be powered by Snapdragon 830.
